Partner by Giving

Like many other mission organizations, Cru depends upon consistent financial support given by compassionate individuals.

For the past 17 years, we've relied on God to raise up a team of partners who give monthly contributions to support our ministry. We are currently trusting the Lord to provide 12 more team members.

We truly see this as a partnership. As you commit to us and the Lord, we commit to you:

  1.  To work diligently to touch the lives of people for Jesus Christ.
  2.  To regularly let you know how God is blessing the ministry.
  3.  To be financially faithful with the funds given for our ministry.
  4.  To share prayer requests with each other and lift you up in prayer.

FAQs

Do my donations go directly to you? Yes, our give link takes you to our direct account with Cru. Our salary and ministry expenses come from this account. Cru does not use central funds for employee salaries. We independently raise all funds necessary to minister and to live.

Why college students?  College is the most influential time in the life of a young adult--one typically chooses the path for their life between the ages of 18-25. According to studies, 80% of young adults who didn't grow up in the Church are open to considering a new path when they enter college. We want to be there while people are at the crossroads and offer them the only thing that truly fulfills--Jesus Christ.

Are you affiliated with a particular church? No, Cru is inter-denominational (not non-denominational), meaning we work with all Christian denominations. You can read our statement of faith.

Why do you choose to do ministry with a mission organization instead of a church? 70% of non-Christian young adults in the USA are not interested in church events. When surveyed, they will not attend even if invited by a friend. Church ministry is a good and important thing, and we work closely with churches on many occasions. The Lord calls each of us to our particular ministry, and He has called us to the 70%. These people will only hear the Gospel through one-on-one relationships and through resources on the internet. This is where our focus is--sharing the love of Christ with others, developing students to share that same love with others, and resourcing today's generation so that more may hear the message.

Why monthly donations? Because our ministry is on-going, monthly contributions help us be consistent in our funds, salary, and anticipated ministry expenses. It also allows those who do not have large amounts of expendable income to partner with us by making a commitment to faithfully sacrifice from their regular earnings.

Do you accept one-time donations? Yes. We understand that some people are not able to give monthly at certain times. We have reoccurring annual expenses for conferences and Summer Missions, and a one-time donation will be used toward those. We would ask you to prayerfully consider making your one-time gift annually.

How long is the monthly commitment? It's open-ended. We have served with Cru for 17 years, and many of our monthly donors have been giving monthly from the very beginning. We plan on being in ministry for the long-haul, and pray that our partners would be so blessed by their investment in eternity that they would remain with us for as long as we are! However, we know that this isn't always possible for everyone, so people have the freedom to end their commitment when they feel the Lord is leading them to do so. We do ask that they give us 60 days notice when possible.

How much do people give monthly? We ask people to choose an amount that demonstrates an "all-in" commitment. Our partners are more than "donors" to us and are truly committed to this ministry and to praying for it. We love that being a team member is not exclusive only to the wealthy, yet we ask that each member gives sacrificially because we know the Lord blesses it.

From Idea to Published!

Last night I taught at Philly Cru's city-wide meeting (virtually) for a series they're hosting called "The Gospel & ____." My topic was "The Gospel & Social Media," which is one of my favorites things to teach. In 2014 when I spoke about it at Cru's Spring Break conference, people asked me if I could put some of it in writing. I liked the idea, but it was also the year we were moving to Italy, and while writing in the Italian countryside sounds dreamy, our city life in Italia was full of other endeavors. In 2017, after we had been back in the U.S. for a year, I wondered if it might be the time to start writing. My wondering turned to certainty when I began consistently waking up at 5AM without an alarm, which gave me two hours of alone time on an average day. I knew the Lord was guiding me because I never (ever ever) wake up on my own that early, yet I consistently was up and felt clear-headed and compelled to write. My bff commemorated the co

Presidential Ceremony Highlights

Our family gathered around the breakfast table to join the live, worldwide induction ceremony for Cru's new president, Steve Sellers. Our hearts are so encouraged!  Highlights include: 1. History of Cru's founder, Bill Bright, and seeing God's faithfulness on display. 2. Our outgoing president, Steve Douglass, addressing the global ministry, giving his full support to Sellers, and encouraging us all to value deeply and prioritize unity among the body of Christ. 3. VP of Global leadership, Dela Adadevoh, "We are called to 'every' person, and that is not a human thing, that is a God thing!" 4. Chairman of the Board of Directors, Barry Cannada assuring everyone of the Lord's leading in this passing of the baton of leadership, "We prayed; we fasted; we carefully selected." 5. Mission leaders from over 25 nations affirming God's calling to the Great Commission in their native tongues. (Wowing!) 6. Global prayer, live in unison, for the new pre

Our daughter's Lyme disease update

Thanks so much for praying for H! We have felt love and care from far and near. We got word last week that she is free from Lyme disease!!!! We are praising the Lord! Our area of the country is known as "Lyme disease capital of the world." Pennsylvania's wooded landscape and mild temperatures make conditions ripe for ticks that carry the disease. Lyme disease cases in the US, 2017 Here's why this whole thing has been so trying and tricky: Lyme disease is from a bacteria that is shaped like a spiral. When it's not caught early, it literally drills into the body and eventually reaches the nervous system where it is no longer possible to eradicate, and people suffer with pain and disabilities associated it with it for their whole lives. But when detected early, it can be eliminated with high dose antibiotics. We are so thankful that we recognized the early symptoms in H and that her doctor treated her right away. There were some complications along the
